[Working Group Name] WG Charter

In accordance with the OpenID Foundation IPR policies and procedures this note proposes the formation of a new working group chartered to produce an OpenID specification. As per Section 4.1 of the Policies, the specifics of the proposed working group are:

Status: Proposal - Spec Council Review. 


(a) Charter.

(i) WG name

Must not include "OpenID" in the name.

(ii) Purpose

A clear statement of purpose.

(iii) Scope

 

Must be related to the purpose of the OIDF and which will include a definition of what is and is not the envisioned “work” of the WG.

Scope of the work

  • What this WG is going to do.

Out of scope

  • List of what this WG is not going to do.

(iv) Proposed List of Specifications

List the specifications that this WG will produce:

  • Name of specification and version (MUST NOT Include the word "OpenID"). Expected completion : YYYY-MM-DD. 

(v) Anticipated audience or users of the work

Fill in here

(vi) Language in which the WG will conduct business

English. 

(vii) Method of work

E.g. E-mail discussions on the working group mailing list, working group conference calls, and possibly face-to-face meetings at conferences. 

(viii) Basis for determining when the work of the WG is completed

E.g. Drafts will be evaluated on the basis of whether they increase or decrease consensus within the working group. The work will be completed once it is apparent that maximal consensus on the drafts has been achieved, consistent with the purpose and scope.

(i) Related work being done by other WGs or organizations

any related work being done in other WGs or organizations, why the proposed new WG is necessary, and any proposed liaison with any such other WGs or organizations;
